CLASSIC | EUROPEAN

London, Paris, Monaco, The Alps, the Mediterranean. Where do you want to drive?

Aston Martin DB5

The iconic Aston Martin DB5 driven by a Mr. Bond, James Bond. Here’s a blend of the smooth and rough sides of 007.

Aston Martin DB5

STAGE 1

On the left – the coast road heading for Antibes, on the Cote d’Azur. On the right, the stage is set for the shoot out in ‘No Time to Die’..

STAGE 2

The tranquil Mediterranean evening has been blended together on the left hand side. Now for the machine gun fire, explosions and car chase on the right.

Ferrari 275GTB 6C

Another Classic European – this time from Italy.

STAGE 1

The Ferrari was photographed on an overcast day while the owner talked nostalgically of trips he’d made to Italy back in the 60s. I visualised a scene in an ancient sunlit village looking out across rolling Tuscan countryside.

STAGE 2

The components were coming together nicely but I need something to tie the foreground in with the background. I paved the mid ground and added a crumbling wall. After that, layers of late afternoon dust and haze to complete the scene.

E-TYPE JAGUAR

Perhaps THE iconic car of the 1960s in the UK. Thanks to Woodham Mortimer for the Jaguar, photographed in their showrooms.

STAGE 1

1960s Piccadilly Circus – the perfect setting for the E-Type and I particularly liked the wet streets. I toyed with the idea of adding the Eros statue, eventually settling for a man struggling through the rain with his umbrella.

STAGE 2

I ‘cut’ the car out, added blur and lights, and removed the central sign post. Of course the scene needed the obligatory London bus and black cab and, in the final scene, I added some street lights in the centre to balance things out.
