STRANGE | CUSTOMS

If you’re looking for something a little..darker, here’s a selection of projects I’ve worked on to whet your appetite. A moonlit Transylvanian forest perhaps, or maybe a Gothic laboratory high in the German Alps..?

DRACULA’s ROD

Ricky Bobby’s Rod shop in Manchester, Tennessee put this unique machine together – based on a 1928 Ford. It had to be taken to Transylvania..

STAGE 1

The story began on a busy parking lot before I moved everything to Transylvania. The idea was to have a rough trail heading into a threatening forest.

STAGE 2

I added more forest and then a red glow to the interior. After that, some blur and then all we needed was mist, moonlight – and a lone wolf.

FRANKEN-VIC

This started its life as a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria or ‘Vic’, an ex police car. Some changes were made.

STAGE 1

The owner wanted me to put some artwork together hinting at the creation of his ‘Franken-Vic’. Where else could it be but Doctor Frankenstein’s laboratory?

STAGE 2

I really enjoyed pulling the parts together into a Hammer Horror version of an auto workshop – complete with bolts of lightening.

1958 cadillac hearse

Back in Transylvania. This time I thought Dracula could be racing through the night driving a 58 Cadillac hearse – when suddenly..

STAGE 1

I positioned the Cadillac onto a Transylvania montage, but felt it need more drama and struck on the idea of a near miss with a ghostly horse-driven hearse.

STAGE 2

I played around with several combinations finally warping these majestic beasts into the scene. Now all I needed was speed, mist, and glowing red interiors.
